About the Owners of Mighty Fresh!

Melanie and I started Rankin Rental and Outdoor Inc in 2008 which started out with the purchase of Applewhite Rentals. At purchase time, Applewhite Rentals was generating approximately $440,000 a year. We grew Rankin Rental to a $3.2 million a year revenue by 2021. We had consistent, steady growth. The opportunity came in 2021 to sell Rankin Rental to a national rental company, called Empower Rental Group (ERG). We added portable toilets to Rankin Rental around 2018 to help supplement during harsh weather. Rankin Rental was mostly dirt rental equipment. The rental was so dependent on dry weather. During wet and cold months, the equipment would be called off rent and we discovered the toilets always stayed on rent. With the weather, the jobs would then take longer than anticipated; therefore, the rental for the toilets lasted longer. When we sold Rankin Rental in 2021, we kept the portable toilet business and called it Stankin Rankin, LLC.
The name has since changed to Mighty Fresh LLC.

The portable toilet business is like a tiny piece of real estate. The equipment rental business was fun, but we were having to compete against the “Grands” of the industry. I was fine with that. I enjoyed the networking, the cold calls, lunches, marketing – all the stuff it takes to build a relationship that leads to life-long, loyal customers. This allowed me to see that there is no one out there pushing the rental of portable toilets, holding tanks, hand-wash stations, and restroom trailers. I notice that when I reach out to the contractors before the job starts that they say, “bring me one.” They simply want that marked off their to-do list – followed by great customer service. Our passion is serving our customers and building relationships.
